High School Professionals and Staff
The Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Services feels that safe behaviors surrounding alcohol use cannot begin in college, but must begin in high school or even earlier. We are pleased to offer programming to high school students, as well as professional staff members. We ask that you please let our department know well in advance so that we may be able to accommodate your party with an ample amount of staffing if needed.
Name that Narcotic
Ready to learn about the most prevalent drugs on today’s college campuses? This program is in a game show format that is played using the buzzer systems and with teams being asked a series of questions about drugs and their street- names. It is a highly interactive program using audio and visual clips showcasing real-life stories from people who have had first-hand experiences with these drugs.
AOD Jeopardy
Back by popular demand, alcohol and drug education presented in a fun format. Lots of giveaways and lots of fun!
BASICS Training
Our department staff is certified in training other staff in BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening In College Students). The BASICS training session will go through the logistics of BASICS and how to facilitate a BASICS session. Participants will also learn about motivational interviewing techniques, as well go through their own mock BASICS session.
