As part of our comprehensive alcohol prevention program, for the fifth year running the University of Connecticut is requiring that each member of the first-year class complete AlcoholEdu - an online, non-opinionated alcohol prevention program for college students. This program is used on over 350 campuses nationwide. The course uses science-based research to educate students about alcohol and its effects. AlcoholEdu for College will empower you to make well-informed safe decisions about alcohol for a successful college career.

Two sections to be completed to fulfill the mandate:

PART I

Part I of the course takes roughly 2.5 hours to complete, and we recommend that you take it in multiple sittings. This section includes:

  • Pre-test
  • Chapters 1 thru 3
  • Post-test
  • Survey 2

You must earn a grade of 70 or higher to pass PART I.

**Deadline to complete PART I - To Be Announced**

PART II

PART II occurs 60 Days after you complete the Exam and Survey 2. You will receive an email asking you to complete:

  • Chapter 4
  • Final exam

**Deadline to complete PART II - To Be Announced**

It is required that each incoming freshmen at The University of Connecticut complete AlcoholEdu prior to (To Be Announced). AlcoholEdu is considered complete after the FINAL EXAM is finished.

**Please note that the course includes three surveys that measure students' alcohol-related attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are strictly confidential; the school will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students' answers. You can feel confident that providing truthful answers - no matter what they are - will not put you at any risk for repercussions.
